A Life That Changed the Worldحياةٌ غيّرت العالم
Birth in Meccaالمولد في مكة
Muhammad ﷺ was born in Mecca into the noble Quraysh tribe. His father died before his birth and his mother when he was six; he was raised by his grandfather and then his uncle Abu Talib.وُلِد محمد ﷺ في مكة في قبيلة قريش الشريفة. تُوفّي أبوه قبل مولده، وأمّه وهو في السادسة، فكفله جدّه ثم عمّه أبو طالب.
Marriage to Khadijahالزواج من خديجة
He married the noble Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, who was so impressed by his honesty that she proposed to him. She was his first and greatest supporter.تزوّج السيدة خديجة بنت خويلد رضي الله عنها، التي أُعجبت بصدقه وأمانته حتى عرضت عليه الزواج، فكانت أوّل من آمن به وأعظم سندٍ له.
First Revelationبدء الوحي
At age 40, in the Cave of Hira, Angel Jibreel revealed the first verses: "Read in the name of your Lord who created." Khadijah RA comforted and supported him.في الأربعين من عمره، وفي غار حِراء، نزل عليه جبريل بأوّل الآيات: «اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ»، فثبّتته خديجة رضي الله عنها وآزرته.
Public Preachingالجهر بالدعوة
He began calling people openly to Islam. The Quraysh persecuted the early Muslims, especially the poor and enslaved, yet he endured with patience.بدأ يدعو الناس جهراً إلى الإسلام، فاضطهدت قريشٌ المسلمين الأوائل، وخاصةً الفقراء والمستضعفين، فصبر واحتسب.
Year of Sorrow & the Night Journeyعام الحزن والإسراء والمعراج
In one year he lost both his beloved wife Khadijah and his protecting uncle Abu Talib. Soon after, Allah honoured him with Al-Isra wal-Miraj, the miraculous night journey to Jerusalem and ascension through the heavens, during which the five daily prayers were prescribed.في عامٍ واحدٍ فقد زوجته الحبيبة خديجة وعمّه الحامي أبا طالب. ثم أكرمه الله بالإسراء والمعراج، الرحلة المعجزة ليلاً إلى بيت المقدس والعروج إلى السماوات، وفيها فُرِضت الصلوات الخمس.
The Hijra to Medinaالهجرة إلى المدينة
Facing assassination, he migrated to Medina with Abu Bakr. The Islamic (Hijri) calendar begins here. In Medina he founded the first Islamic state and drafted the Constitution of Medina, a pact of justice and coexistence between Muslims, Jews, and other tribes.لمّا تآمروا على قتله، هاجر إلى المدينة مع أبي بكر رضي الله عنه، ومن هذه الهجرة يبدأ التقويم الهجري. وفي المدينة أقام أوّل دولةٍ إسلامية، ووضع «صحيفة المدينة», عهد عدلٍ وتعايشٍ بين المسلمين واليهود وسائر القبائل.
The Battle of Badrغزوة بدر الكبرى
About 313 Muslims faced a Meccan army of nearly 1,000, and won a decisive victory. Badr was a turning point that established the young Muslim community and is remembered as a day Allah aided the believers.واجه نحو ٣١٣ من المسلمين جيشاً مكّياً يقارب الألف، فانتصروا انتصاراً حاسماً. كانت بدرٌ نقطة تحوّلٍ ثبّتت الأمة الناشئة، وتُذكر بأنها يومٌ نصر الله فيه المؤمنين.
The Battle of the Trenchغزوة الخندق (الأحزاب)
A large coalition besieged Medina. On the advice of Salman al-Farisi, the Muslims dug a defensive trench, a novel strategy that left the attackers unable to advance, and the siege failed.حاصر تحالفٌ كبير المدينة. وبمشورة سلمان الفارسي حفر المسلمون خندقاً دفاعياً، خطةً مبتكرة عجز معها المهاجمون عن التقدّم، ففشل الحصار.
The Treaty of Hudaybiyyahصلح الحديبية
A ten-year truce with the Quraysh that seemed a setback but opened the door for Islam to spread in peace; numbers multiplied rapidly afterwards. The Quran called it "a clear victory" (48:1).هدنةٌ لعشر سنواتٍ مع قريش بدت تنازلاً، لكنها فتحت الباب لانتشار الإسلام سلماً، فتضاعف عدد المسلمين بعدها سريعاً. وسمّاه القرآن «فتحاً مبيناً» (٤٨:١).
Conquest of Mecca, Without Bloodshedفتح مكة دون دماء
He returned to Mecca with 10,000 soldiers but entered peacefully. His first act was a general amnesty for all his former enemies: "Go, for you are free." An act of mercy unmatched in history.عاد إلى مكة في عشرة آلاف مقاتل، لكنه دخلها مسالماً. وكان أوّل ما فعله العفو العام عن أعدائه: «اذهبوا فأنتم الطلقاء». عفوٌ لا نظير له في التاريخ.

In his Farewell Sermon he established universal human rights, the equality of races, the rights of women, and the end of usury. He passed away at 63, having transformed Arabia and founded a world civilisation.في خطبة الوداع أرسى مبادئ حقوق الإنسان، المساواة بين الأجناس، وحقوق المرأة، وتحريم الربا. ثم تُوفّي وله ثلاثٌ وستون سنة، بعد أن غيّر جزيرة العرب وأسّس حضارةً عالمية.

Even his enemies trusted him to guard their valuables and judge their disputes before prophethood.حتى أعداؤه ائتمنوه على ودائعهم وحكّموه في خصوماتهم قبل البعثة.
Never raised his handلم يضرب قطّ
Aisha RA said he never struck a woman, child, or servant with his hand.قالت عائشة رضي الله عنها: ما ضرب بيده امرأةً ولا خادماً ولا طفلاً قط.
Humilityالتواضع
He sat on the floor, mended his sandals, and refused to be treated as royalty.كان يجلس على الأرض، ويخصف نعله، ويأبى أن يُعامَل معاملة الملوك.
Kindness to Animalsالرحمة بالحيوان
He forbade overburdening animals and spoke of a woman forgiven for watering a thirsty dog.نهى عن إرهاق الحيوان، وأخبر عن امرأةٍ غُفر لها لسقيها كلباً عطشان.

"I and the one who sponsors an orphan are like these two in Paradise", and he raised two fingers.قال: «أنا وكافل اليتيم في الجنة هكذا» وأشار بإصبعيه.

He prayed for the people of Ta'if who stoned him, and visited the woman who threw thorns in his path.دعا لأهل الطائف الذين رجموه، وعاد المرأة التي كانت تُلقي الشوك في طريقه حين مرضت.

The Prophet ﷺ was orphaned young. His father died before he was born, and his mother when he was about six years old; he was then raised by his grandfather Abd al-Muttalib and his uncle Abu Talib.نشأ النبيُّ ﷺ يتيماً: تُوفّي أبوه قبل مولده، وأمّه وهو في نحو السادسة من عمره، فكفله جدّه عبد المطلب ثمّ عمّه أبو طالب.
Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalibعبد الله بن عبد المطلب
A young man of the noble Banu Hashim of Quraysh, and the dearest son of Abd al-Muttalib.شابٌّ من بني هاشم أشراف قريش، وأحبّ أبناء عبد المطلب إليه.
Passed away on a journey to Yathrib (Medina) a few months before the Prophet ﷺ was born, so the Prophet never saw his father.تُوفّي في يثرب (المدينة) عائداً من رحلةٍ قبل مولد النبي ﷺ بأشهر، فلم يرَ النبيُّ أباه قطّ.
Aminah bint Wahbآمنة بنت وهب
His mother, from the noble house of Banu Zuhrah of Quraysh.أمّه، من بني زُهرة من أشراف قريش.
Passed away at al-Abwa when the Prophet ﷺ was about six years old, as they returned from visiting his relatives in Medina.تُوفّيت بالأبواء والنبيُّ ﷺ في نحو السادسة من عمره، وهما عائدان من زيارة أخواله بالمدينة.
Abd al-Muttalib ibn Hashimعبد المطلب بن هاشم
The chief of Mecca, who took the orphaned boy into his loving care after his mother died.سيّد مكة، الذي ضمّ الصبيَّ اليتيم إلى كنفه ورعايته بعد وفاة أمّه.
Passed away when the Prophet ﷺ was about eight years old.تُوفّي والنبيُّ ﷺ في نحو الثامنة من عمره.
Abu Talib ibn Abd al-Muttalibأبو طالب بن عبد المطلب
The uncle who raised and protected him after his grandfather, shielding him from Quraysh for years.العمّ الذي ربّاه وحماه بعد جدّه، ودافع عنه أمام قريش سنينَ طويلة.
Passed away about three years before the Hijra, in the Year of Sorrow.تُوفّي قبل الهجرة بنحو ثلاث سنوات، في «عام الحزن».
Halimah as-Sa'diyyahحليمة السعدية
Of the tribe of Banu Sa'd, she nursed and raised him in the desert in his earliest years; before her, Thuwaybah had briefly nursed him.من بني سعد، أرضعته وربّته في البادية في سنواته الأولى؛ وقد أرضعته قبلها ثُوَيبة مدّةً يسيرة.
She met him again after his prophethood and he honoured her greatly.لقيته بعد البعثة فأكرمها وبسط لها رداءه.
The Mothers of the Believersأمّهات المؤمنين أزواجه
The Prophet ﷺ married eleven wives, honoured in the Quran as "Mothers of the Believers." Most were widows or divorcees, and many of the marriages built bonds of compassion, protection, and alliance between tribes. He lived alone with Khadijah for about twenty-five years until she died. Nine of his wives were living at the time of his passing.تزوّج النبيُّ ﷺ إحدى عشرة امرأة، وقد شرّفهنّ القرآن بلقب «أمّهات المؤمنين». وكان أكثرهنّ من الأرامل والمطلّقات، وفي كثيرٍ من زيجاته رحمةٌ ورعايةٌ وتأليفٌ بين القبائل. وقد أقام مع خديجة وحدها نحو خمسٍ وعشرين سنة حتى توفّيت. وكان على قيد الحياة عند وفاته ﷺ تسعٌ من أزواجه.
Khadijah bint Khuwaylidخديجة بنت خويلد
His first wife, married before prophethood when he was about twenty-five. A noble and successful merchant, she was the first of all people to believe in him and his greatest support, and the mother of all his children except Ibrahim. He married no one else during her life.زوجته الأولى، تزوّجها قبل البعثة وهو في نحو الخامسة والعشرين. تاجرةٌ شريفةٌ ناجحة، كانت أوّل من آمن به من الناس وأعظم سندٍ له، وأمّ جميع أولاده إلا إبراهيم. ولم يتزوّج عليها في حياتها.
Passed away in Mecca about three years before the Hijra (the Year of Sorrow).تُوفّيت بمكة قبل الهجرة بنحو ثلاث سنوات (عام الحزن).
Sawdah bint Zam'ahسَودة بنت زمعة
An early Muslim who had emigrated to Abyssinia for her faith; the first he married after Khadijah, loved for her gentleness and generosity.من السابقات إلى الإسلام، هاجرت إلى الحبشة في دينها؛ أوّل من تزوّج بعد خديجة، عُرفت بلينها وكرمها.
Aishah bint Abi Bakrعائشة بنت أبي بكر
Daughter of Abu Bakr and a brilliant scholar who narrated more than two thousand hadith and taught the greatest companions; one of the foremost sources of Islamic knowledge.ابنة أبي بكر، وعالمةٌ نابغة روت أكثر من ألفي حديثٍ وعلّمت كبار الصحابة؛ من أعظم مصادر العلم الإسلامي.
Passed away in 58 AH.تُوفّيت سنة ٥٨ هـ.
Hafsah bint Umarحفصة بنت عمر
Daughter of Umar ibn al-Khattab; devout, often fasting and praying. The first compiled copy of the Quran was kept in her care.ابنة عمر بن الخطاب؛ عابدةٌ كثيرة الصيام والقيام. حُفِظ عندها المصحف الأوّل بعد جمعه.
Zaynab bint Khuzaymahزينب بنت خزيمة
Called "Umm al-Masakin," the Mother of the Poor, for her constant charity and care for the needy.لُقّبت بـ«أمّ المساكين» لكثرة صدقتها ورعايتها للفقراء والمحتاجين.
Passed away only a few months after their marriage.تُوفّيت بعد زواجها منه بأشهرٍ قليلة.
Umm Salamah (Hind bint Abi Umayyah)أمّ سلمة (هند بنت أبي أميّة)
Wise and far-sighted; her counsel at Hudaybiyyah was famous. She was among the last of his wives to pass away.ذات عقلٍ ورأيٍ سديد؛ اشتهرت مشورتها يوم الحديبية. وكانت من آخر أمّهات المؤمنين وفاةً.
Zaynab bint Jahshزينب بنت جحش
His cousin; pious, hard-working with her hands, and very charitable. Her marriage is mentioned in the Quran (33:37).بنت عمّته؛ تقيّةٌ صنّاعٌ بيدها كثيرة الصدقة. وقد ذُكر زواجها في القرآن (الأحزاب ٣٧).
Juwayriyah bint al-Harithجويرية بنت الحارث
Of Banu al-Mustaliq; after their marriage the Muslims freed a hundred captive families of her people in her honour.من بني المصطلق؛ بعد زواجها منه أعتق المسلمون مئة بيتٍ من سبايا قومها إكراماً لها.
Umm Habibah (Ramlah bint Abi Sufyan)أمّ حبيبة (رملة بنت أبي سفيان)
Daughter of Abu Sufyan; she had emigrated to Abyssinia and held firm to Islam despite her father's early enmity.ابنة أبي سفيان؛ هاجرت إلى الحبشة وثبتت على الإسلام رغم عداء أبيها في أوّل الأمر.
Safiyyah bint Huyayyصفيّة بنت حُيَيّ
Of the Banu an-Nadir and a descendant of Prophet Harun (Aaron); noble, patient, and forbearing.من بني النضير، ومن نسل النبيّ هارون عليه السلام؛ شريفةٌ صبورٌ حليمة.
Maymunah bint al-Harithميمونة بنت الحارث
Devout and deeply God-conscious; she was the last woman the Prophet ﷺ married.عابدةٌ تقيّةٌ وصولةٌ للرحم؛ وهي آخر امرأةٍ تزوّجها النبيُّ ﷺ.
Mariyah al-Qibtiyyah (Maria the Copt)مارية القبطية
A Coptic Egyptian who was gifted to him by the ruler of Egypt and became the mother of his son Ibrahim. She embraced Islam and was honoured in his household.مصريّةٌ قبطيّة أهداها له مَلِك مصر، فصارت أمّ ابنه إبراهيم. أسلمت وأُكرمت في بيت النبوّة.
His Sons & Daughtersأولاده أولاده
He had seven children: three sons and four daughters. All were born to Khadijah except his son Ibrahim, whose mother was Mariyah. All three sons died in childhood, and all his daughters passed away in his lifetime except Fatimah, who outlived him by about six months. Through Fatimah and her sons al-Hasan and al-Husayn, the Prophet's blessed lineage continued.رُزق سبعةَ أولاد: ثلاثة أبناء وأربع بنات. وكلّهم من خديجة إلا ابنه إبراهيم فأمّه مارية. تُوفّي الأبناء الثلاثة صغاراً، وتُوفّيت بناته في حياته إلا فاطمة فبقيت بعده بنحو ستة أشهر. وبفاطمة وابنيها الحسن والحسين امتدّ نسل النبيّ ﷺ المبارك.
Al-Qasimالقاسم
His eldest child, born in Mecca to Khadijah; from him came the Prophet's nickname "Abu al-Qasim."أكبر أولاده، وُلد بمكة من خديجة؛ وبه كُنّي النبيُّ ﷺ «أبا القاسم».
Passed away in early childhood in Mecca.تُوفّي صغيراً بمكة.
Abdullahعبد الله
Born in Mecca to Khadijah; he is also called at-Tayyib and at-Tahir (the Good and the Pure).وُلد بمكة من خديجة؛ ويُلقّب بالطيّب والطاهر.
Passed away in infancy.تُوفّي صغيراً.
Ibrahimإبراهيم
Born in Medina to Mariyah the Copt. On the day he died the sun eclipsed, and the Prophet ﷺ taught that the sun and moon do not eclipse for anyone's death.وُلد بالمدينة من مارية القبطية. ويوم وفاته كسفت الشمس، فبيّن النبيُّ ﷺ أنّ الشمس والقمر لا ينكسفان لموت أحد.
Passed away at about eighteen months old.تُوفّي وعمره نحو ثمانية عشر شهراً.
Zaynabزينب
His eldest daughter, born to Khadijah; she married Abu al-As ibn al-Rabi.كبرى بناته من خديجة؛ تزوّجها أبو العاص بن الربيع.
Passed away in 8 AH, during the Prophet's lifetime.تُوفّيت سنة ٨ هـ في حياة النبيّ ﷺ.
Ruqayyahرقيّة
Daughter of Khadijah; she married Uthman ibn Affan and emigrated with him to Abyssinia and then Medina.ابنة خديجة؛ تزوّجها عثمان بن عفان وهاجرت معه إلى الحبشة ثم المدينة.
Passed away in 2 AH, on the day the news of the victory of Badr reached Medina.تُوفّيت سنة ٢ هـ يوم بلغت المدينةَ بُشرى النصر في بدر.
Umm Kulthumأمّ كلثوم
Daughter of Khadijah; she married Uthman ibn Affan after her sister Ruqayyah, so Uthman was called Dhun-Nurayn, the one of two lights.ابنة خديجة؛ تزوّجها عثمان بن عفان بعد أختها رقيّة، فلُقّب عثمان بـ«ذي النورين».
Passed away in 9 AH, during the Prophet's lifetime.تُوفّيت سنة ٩ هـ في حياة النبيّ ﷺ.
Fatimah az-Zahraفاطمة الزهراء
The most beloved to him; born to Khadijah, she married Ali ibn Abi Talib and was the mother of al-Hasan and al-Husayn. The Prophet's blessed lineage continued only through her.أحبّ بناته إليه؛ من خديجة، تزوّجها عليّ بن أبي طالب وكانت أمّ الحسن والحسين. وبها وحدها امتدّ نسل النبيّ ﷺ.
The only one of his children to outlive him; she passed away about six months after him (11 AH).الوحيدة من أولاده التي بقيت بعده؛ تُوفّيت بعده بنحو ستة أشهر (١١ هـ).

His closest friend and companion of the Hijra; the first adult man to embrace Islam and the first Caliph.أقرب أصحابه ورفيق الهجرة؛ أوّل من أسلم من الرجال، وأوّل الخلفاء الراشدين.
Umar ibn al-Khattabعمر رضي الله عنه
The second Caliph, renowned for justice and strength; under him the Islamic state expanded dramatically.الخليفة الثاني، اشتهر بالعدل والقوّة؛ واتّسعت الدولة في عهده اتساعاً عظيماً.
Uthman ibn Affanعثمان رضي الله عنه
The third Caliph, known for modesty and generosity; he had the Quran compiled into one standard text.الخليفة الثالث، عُرف بالحياء والكرم؛ جمع القرآن في مصحفٍ واحدٍ موحّد.
Ali ibn Abi Talibعليّ رضي الله عنه
His cousin, raised in his household, and the fourth Caliph; famed for knowledge and courage, and the husband of his daughter Fatimah.ابن عمّه الذي تربّى في بيته، ورابع الخلفاء؛ اشتهر بالعلم والشجاعة، وهو زوج ابنته فاطمة.
Hamza ibn Abd al-Muttalibحمزة رضي الله عنه
His brave uncle, called "the Lion of Allah," who defended the early Muslim community and was martyred at Uhud.عمّه الشجاع، الملقّب بأسد الله، الذي دافع عن الأمة في بداياتها واستُشهد يوم أُحد.
Ja'far ibn Abi Talibجعفر رضي الله عنه
His cousin who led the migration to Abyssinia and spoke for the Muslims before its king; martyred at Mu'tah.ابن عمّه الذي قاد الهجرة إلى الحبشة وتحدّث باسم المسلمين أمام النجاشي؛ واستُشهد يوم مؤتة.
Salman al-Farisiسلمان الفارسي رضي الله عنه
A Persian seeker of truth who travelled far in search of the awaited Prophet; he proposed digging the Trench that saved Medina.باحثٌ فارسيٌّ عن الحقّ رحل بعيداً يطلب النبيّ المنتظَر؛ وهو صاحب فكرة حفر الخندق الذي حمى المدينة.
Bilal ibn Rabahبلال رضي الله عنه
A formerly enslaved African, freed by Abu Bakr; chosen as the first muezzin, a symbol of Islam's equality.أفريقيٌّ كان مستعبَداً فأعتقه أبو بكر؛ اختير أوّل مؤذّنٍ في الإسلام، رمزاً للمساواة.
The Prophet in Daily Lifeالنبي ﷺ في حياته اليومية
His everyday habits (the Sunnah) show a gentle, balanced, and deeply human example that Muslims lovingly follow.تكشف عاداته اليومية (السنّة) عن نموذجٍ لطيفٍ متوازنٍ وإنسانيٍّ عميق يتأسّى به المسلمون بمحبّة.
Gentle with familyالرفق بالأهل
"The best of you is the best to his family, and I am the best to my family." (Tirmidhi) He helped with chores and served his household.«خيركم خيركم لأهله، وأنا خيركم لأهلي» (الترمذي). كان يعين في خدمة البيت ويخدم أهله.
He smiled oftenكثرة التبسّم
He was constantly smiling and said: "Smiling in your brother's face is charity." (Tirmidhi)كان دائم التبسّم، وقال: «تبسّمك في وجه أخيك صدقة» (الترمذي).
Moderation in eatingالاعتدال في الطعام
He never criticised food; if he liked it he ate, if not he left it. He warned against filling the stomach.ما عاب طعاماً قطّ؛ إن اشتهاه أكله وإلا تركه. وحذّر من ملء البطن.
Love of cleanlinessحبّ النظافة
He valued cleanliness, regular bathing, using the siwak (tooth-stick), and pleasant scent.أحبّ النظافة والاغتسال والسواك والطيب.
Mercy to childrenالرحمة بالأطفال
He kissed and played with children, carried his grandchildren during prayer, and was tender to orphans.كان يُقبّل الأطفال ويلاعبهم، ويحمل أحفاده في الصلاة، ويرفق باليتامى.
Truthful & promise-keepingالصدق والوفاء
He kept every promise and never lied, even his enemies entrusted him with their wealth.وفى بكل وعدٍ ولم يكذب قطّ، حتى أعداؤه ائتمنوه على أموالهم.
