So Remindفَذَكِّرْ

"So remind, for you are only a reminder." (88:21). Quiet reminders of what we know yet often forget, drawn straight from the Quran and the authentic Sunnah.«فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ» (الغاشية ٨٨:٢١). تذكيرٌ هادئ بما نعلمه ونغفل عنه، من القرآن والسنّة الصحيحة.

الغِيبة Quranآية

Would you eat your brother's flesh?أتأكل لحم أخيك؟

وَلَا يَغْتَب بَّعْضُكُم بَعْضًا ۚ أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَن يَأْكُلَ لَحْمَ أَخِيهِ مَيْتًا فَكَرِهْتُمُوهُ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ

"And do not backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would detest it. And fear Allah."

Quran 49:12سورة الحجرات ٤٩:١٢

Before you repeat what you heard about someone, picture the image Allah chose.قبل أن تنقل ما سمعته عن أحدٍ، تذكّر الصورة التي اختارها الله لها.

الموت Quranآية

Death comes suddenlyالموت يأتي بغتة

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۗ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

"Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your full reward on the Day of Resurrection."

Quran 3:185سورة آل عمران ٣:١٨٥

No one was promised tomorrow. Make your next prayer as if it were your last.لم يُوعَد أحدٌ بالغد. فصلِّ صلاتك القادمة وكأنها آخر صلاة.

تذكّر Hadithحديث

Remember the ender of pleasuresأكثروا ذكر هاذم اللذّات

أَكْثِرُوا ذِكْرَ هَاذِمِ اللَّذَّاتِ، يَعْنِي الْمَوْتَ

"Remember often the destroyer of pleasures," meaning death.

Sunan al-Tirmidhi 2307 (hasan)سنن الترمذي ٢٣٠٧ (حسن)

Remembering death is not gloom, it is what makes the heart sincere and light.ذكر الموت ليس كآبة، بل هو ما يجعل القلب مخلصاً خفيفاً.

الغفلة Quranآية

The reckoning has drawn nearاقترب الحساب

اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ

"The reckoning of mankind has drawn near, yet they turn away in heedlessness."

Quran 21:1سورة الأنبياء ٢١:١

The days slip by while we scroll. Pause, and return to Him today.تمضي الأيام ونحن غافلون. فقِف، وعُد إليه اليوم.

الوقت Quranآية

By time, mankind is in lossوالعصر، إنّ الإنسان لفي خسر

وَالْعَصْرِ ۝ إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ ۝ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ

"By time, indeed mankind is in loss, except those who believe, do righteous deeds, and counsel one another to truth and to patience."

Quran 103:1-3سورة العصر ١٠٣:١-٣

A whole surah swears by time that we are losing it, unless we use it well.سورةٌ كاملة تُقسم بالزمن أننا في خسارة، إلا من أحسن استعماله.

التوبة Quranآية

Never despair of Allah's mercyلا تقنطوا من رحمة الله

قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا

"Say: O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins."

Quran 39:53سورة الزمر ٣٩:٥٣

However far you went, the door of return is wide open. Turn back now.مهما ابتعدت، فباب العودة مفتوحٌ واسع. عُد الآن.

الدنيا Quranآية

This world is fleeting enjoymentوما الحياة الدنيا إلا متاع الغرور

وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ

"And the life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of delusion."

Quran 57:20سورة الحديد ٥٧:٢٠

What you are chasing will end. Invest in what remains with Allah.ما تسعى خلفه سيزول، فاستثمر فيما يبقى عند الله.

هوان الدنيا Hadithحديث

Less than a mosquito's wingأهون من جناح بعوضة

لَوْ كَانَتِ الدُّنْيَا تَعْدِلُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ جَنَاحَ بَعُوضَةٍ مَا سَقَى كَافِرًا مِنْهَا شَرْبَةَ مَاءٍ

"If the world were worth the wing of a mosquito to Allah, He would not give a disbeliever a sip of water from it."

Sunan al-Tirmidhi 2320 (sahih)سنن الترمذي ٢٣٢٠ (صحيح)

If the dunya is this small to Allah, do not sell your eternal home for a piece of it.إذا كانت الدنيا بهذا الهوان عند الله، فلا تبِع آخرتك الخالدة بشيءٍ منها.

اللسان Hadithحديث

Speak good, or stay silentفليقل خيراً أو ليصمت

مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ

"Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent."

Your tongue is recorded. A moment of silence can save you from regret.لسانك مكتوبٌ عليك، وصمتُ لحظةٍ قد ينجيك من ندمٍ طويل.

الأمانة Quranآية

The Trust you carryالأمانة التي تحملها

إِنَّا عَرَضْنَا الْأَمَانَةَ عَلَى السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَالْجِبَالِ فَأَبَيْنَ أَن يَحْمِلْنَهَا وَأَشْفَقْنَ مِنْهَا وَحَمَلَهَا الْإِنسَانُ ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ ظَلُومًا جَهُولًا

"Indeed, We offered the Trust to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains, but they declined to bear it and feared it, yet man undertook it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant."

Quran 33:72سورة الأحزاب ٣٣:٧٢

Your prayer, your word, your work, and what people entrust to you are all amanah you will be asked about.صلاتك، وكلمتك، وعملك، وما يأتمنك الناس عليه، كلّها أمانةٌ ستُسأل عنها.

الصدق والأمانة Hadithحديث

The three signs of a hypocriteآية المنافق ثلاث

آيَةُ الْمُنَافِقِ ثَلَاثٌ: إِذَا حَدَّثَ كَذَبَ، وَإِذَا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ، وَإِذَا اؤْتُمِنَ خَانَ

"The signs of a hypocrite are three: when he speaks he lies, when he promises he breaks it, and when he is entrusted he betrays the trust."

Guard your word and every trust placed in your hands. Truthfulness and keeping trust are the proof of true faith.احفظ كلمتك وكل أمانةٍ تُوضع بين يديك. فالصدق وأداء الأمانة برهان الإيمان الصادق.

ذكر الله Quranآية

Hearts find rest in His remembranceبذكر الله تطمئنّ القلوب

الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۗ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ

"Those who believe and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah. Truly, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest."

Quran 13:28سورة الرعد ١٣:٢٨

Anxious? The cure was never more scrolling. It is His remembrance.أيقلقك شيء؟ الدواء ليس مزيداً من التصفّح، بل ذكر الله.

"And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers." (51:55)«وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ» (الذاريات ٥١:٥٥)
